Dental implant placement
When Dr. Paul Caputo places implant/ implants on a patient, Dr. Caputo must first take a 3 dimensional scan, also known as a cat scan (I-cat). Dr. Caputo will then study the scan and determine what type and shape implant will be used. At the time of surgery Dr.Paul Caputo will begin by using various types of drills, starting with the appropriate drill making the smallest hole into the bone and working up to the size of the implant. Dr. Caputo will then remove the implant from a sterilized container and place the implant in jawbone or maxilla. Most often suturs(stiches) are placed and the paient returns approxiatly 10-14 days later for the removal of sutures and a post-opertive check. After that time, the implant/implants remain untouched (with exception fo some ungue cases) fo approxamently 3-6 months. This allows for adegrated healing time in addition to the patient’s natural baone infiltrating and intergrating with the implant.
